After careful review and discussion with the City, the Local has agreed to accept the “Promotional Opportunity” offered by the City. Please be advised, however, that if you choose to participate in the “Promotional Opportunity” you become a non-represented employee and loose your representation by the Local. In addition, at the end of the “Promotional Opportunity” you will no longer be employed with City. We strongly encourage any member considering participating in this program to carefully review the full details of the offer.

After many years of dedicated service to our membership Fred Lowe, Business Manager for LIUNA Local 777 is retiring. Mr. Lowe was instrumental in uniting our PACTE membership with LIUNA. Please feel free to send Fred a message at fred@liuna777.org. Fred’s last day with the Local will be 26 June.

On 30 March, City Council unanimously approved PACTE/LIUNA’s MOU for the term of 1 October 2008 to 30 September 2010.  Your Negotiation Team is working with the City to implement the contract.  Please contact your Board members for any questions.

Congratulations members! The Tentative Agreement has been ratified by a vote of 136 “for” and 52 “against”. The Tentative Agreement should go to Council soon for approval. Thanks to all the “ayes” and “nays” for your participation in this important vote.
